Review: Gareth Emery – Metropolis (Original Mix) (Trance) Drew Wilson | October 12, 2015 This review covers the progressive trance track Gareth Emery – Metropolis (Original Mix). This track was released in 2009 as a single. Probably the big thing that sticks out for me is the main melody that appears in numerous forms. While it is a simple melody, many different kinds of synths take turns repeating it. I thought this actually added an interesting dynamic to the track. In addition to this, there is the occasional backup melody that occasionally gets added to the end of the main melody. I thought this was a pretty nice touch. This track also features a nice evolution throughout the track. Whether it’s the chords, the pads, the filtered white noise, or another element, there’s a constant change throughout that keeps this track interesting throughout. Overall, I thought this was a pretty good track to listen to. Definitely one of those familiar tracks you might find yourself listening to every so often in my opinion.
