Trump Defies Court Order, Oppresses Oregon With Troops

The oppression of American cities is continuing and Trump doesn’t give a damn what some stupid court hast to say about it.

US fascist dictator, Donald Trump, is expanding his military crackdown to oppress more American citizens. The brutal military crackdown began in Los Angeles and spread to Washington. This with threats to expand martial law on other cities. This while effectively declaring all those who dare question him domestic terrorists while some in the right wing extremist ranks calling for all perceived political opponents to be hanged.

Now, one of the next targets for Trump’s military crackdown are different cities located in the state of Oregon. One of those cities flagged for the next round of martial law is, of course, Portland. Dictator Trump fabricated tall tales of the city besieged by terrorists and calling the city a war zone. This, of course, is par for the course for the pathological liar, though some are suggesting that he got this fabricated picture of a city under siege thanks to 5 year old B-roll broadcast on right wing propaganda network, Fox News. Trump, of course, would later admit that he has no idea what is going on in the cities, but the mainstream media has largely ignored those comments.

Of course, some courts at least live in the real world. So, it comes as no surprise that politicians in that state filed an injunction to stop the military takeover of their state. This knowing full well that the deployment is done with the explicit purpose of causing trouble on the city streets. Faced with conspiracy theories on one side, and facts and reality on the other side, a judge blocked the deployment of the National Guard to that state:

A federal judge on Saturday temporarily blocked U.S. President Donald Trump from deploying 200 Oregon National Guard troops to the city of Portland while a lawsuit challenging the move plays out.

The ruling by U.S. District Judge Karin Immergut in Portland is a setback for Trump as he seeks to dispatch the military to cities he describes as lawless over the objections of their Democratic leaders.

Immergut, who was appointed by Trump during his first term, blocked the Republican president from sending troops at least until October 18, saying there was no evidence that recent protests rose to the level of a rebellion or seriously interfered with law enforcement.

While Trump described the city as “War ravaged,” lawyers from the Oregon attorney general’s office have said that protests in Portland were “small and sedate,” resulting in only 25 arrests in mid-June and no arrests in the 3-1/2 months since June 19.

“The President’s determination was simply untethered to the facts,” Immergut wrote.

So, for many, this represented at least a temporary reprieve from the right wing invasion. Unfortunately, Trump doesn’t give a damn about facts, the law, or reality and reports are surfacing that he is deploying those troops in the state anyway. Apparently, these troops are coming from the National Guard in California. From NBC:

California Gov. Gavin Newsom said Sunday that he would sue the Trump administration after it federalized 300 California National Guard troops and deployed them to Oregon, just one day after a federal judge blocked President Donald Trump’s attempt to deploy Oregon National Guard troops in Portland.

“In response to a federal court order that blocked his attempt to federalize the Oregon National Guard, President Trump is deploying 300 California National Guard personnel into Oregon. They are on their way there now,” Newsom, a Democrat, said in a statement. “This is a breathtaking abuse of the law and power. The Trump Administration is unapologetically attacking the rule of law itself and putting into action their dangerous words — ignoring court orders and treating judges, even those appointed by the President himself, as political opponents.”

In a statement, the White House confirmed the movement of California National Guard troops to Oregon.

“President Trump exercised his lawful authority to protect federal assets and personnel in Portland following violent riots and attacks on law enforcement. For once, Gavin Newscum should stand on the side of law-abiding citizens instead of violent criminals destroying Portland and cities across the country,” White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson said, referring to the California governor with a nickname often used by the president.

In a statement, Oregon Gov. Tina Kotek, a Democrat, confirmed that California National Guard troops had already arrived in Oregon, saying, “101 federalized California National Guard members arrived in Oregon last night via plane, and it is our understanding that there are more on the way today.”

She went on to condemn the move, saying, “This action appears to intentional to circumvent yesterday’s ruling by a federal judge. The facts haven’t changed. There is no need for military intervention in Oregon. There is no insurrection in Portland. No threat to national security. Oregon is our home, not a military target. Oregonians exercising their freedom of speech against unlawful actions by the Trump Administration should do so peacefully.”

So, it appears that American citizens in Oregon are going to suffer from military oppression as martial law gets unilaterally declared on their cities. A Politico report says that California Governor, Gavin Newsom, is also filing a lawsuit over this.

Either way, it looks like fascism is continue to envelope America as more and more gun wielding thugs seize control of the city streets. Makes one wonder if someone is going to get killed eventually as Trump raises the temperature even further in the US.
