With every other list counted down, we are now down to this one. Let’s count down the top 10 best tracks we’ve reviewed in 2025!
We’ve done a rather unusual thing by counting down the top 5 worst tracks. We then counted down the top 10 worst games we’ve reviewed all year. Then, we turned things around for the positive and counted down the top 10 best games we’ve reviewed all year. So, it only makes sense to review the top 10 best tracks we’ve reviewed all year.
As previously mentioned, as we’ve been going through the early to mid 2000’s, the uptick in quality of tracks was certainly noticeable. It wound up being impossible to fill a top 10 worst tracks list because the quality had improved so much. Naturally, you might be wondering what impact this has on this years best list. Well, predictably, it means we have much more to choose from this year. It certainly was difficult to pick which ones were our favorites this year, but we did manage to produce a list in the end. So, let’s see what made the list this year!
10. Weird Al – eBay

(RIAA)
We kick off this year with a comedy track that really manages to hit all the right comedy notes. While staying true to the original track, this satire track injects humor into a topic that is very relatable to this day. Really no surprise seeing this timeless classic make this years list.
8/10
9. Jerk – Sucked In

(RIAA)
Quite the interesting industrial track. It sounds like a heavy metal track, but the truth is, this one involves a lot of synths. Overall, though, it is a great overall track worth listening to.
8/10
8. Wolfgun – As Stars Fall

(Commercial/Free Streaming)
Coming in at number 8 is one really nice drum and bass track. With creative lyrics and an overall celestial sound, it’s not a surprise a track like this would do well. Mixed down into a drum and bass track means this track occupies a very respectable position on this years list.
8/10
7. Liam Westbrook – The Rush

(Free Streaming)
Variety is really continuing to be a theme for this years list. It continues with this trance track occupying the 7th position. This track boasts great vocals and nicely done synths to really punctuate the theme expressed in the title. Definitely a worthwhile track to listen to.
8/10
6. Liquid Soul & DJ Dream – Liquid Dream (Sean Tyas Remix)

(Commercial)
It’s pretty interesting seeing no genre repeats so far and the run continues all the way up to number 6 this year. This psychedelic trance track represents one of the rarer officially supported genre’s featured on this site. So, it’s nice to see it make an appearance. This track utilizes some interesting samples and nicely done melodies. The eclectic sound really helped push this track into this years top 10 list.
8/10
5. Rise Against – Savior

(RIAA)
Moving into the top 5 is another rock track. This one features some great vocals and great guitar work. With symbolism thrown into the lyrics, this one manages to snag a coveted top 5 spot this year.
8/10
4. LostProphets – To Hell We Ride

(RIAA)
Sometimes, you find some great tracks in some interesting places. In this case, we found this one via a video game soundtrack. Taken out of the game an analyzed alone and this is still one great track to listen to.
8/10
3. Ferry Tayle & Elucidus – Fremont (Extended Mix)

(Commercial)
One of the most overused complaints about music I’ve heard is “they don’t make music like they used to”. Often, it’s a criticism that quality music simply isn’t produced anymore. As far as we’re concerned, that complaint may as well say, “I can’t find any good music to listen to any more” because this one easily makes this years top 3. It features great synths and an excellent buildup throughout. This is followed up by a great climax as well.
8/10
2. MxPx – Heard That Sound

(Commercial)
It was extremely difficult to determine a winner this year. It really could have been this track or the one we selected as a winner. While this track just missed out on the top spot, it certainly a worthy track to listen to. With great lyrics, vocals, and impressive guitar work, this track really stands out against the rest. An overall very enjoyable track.
8.5/10
1. Sean Tyas & Niko Zografos – Drop Two (Extended Mix)

(Commercial)
This years winner is a retake on an older track. With this more modern track, you get impressive synth work, a great set of melodies, and excellent production quality. With the high energy nature and some more unique sounds thanks largely to the forment sound, this track manages to claim this years top spot on the list. Definitely highly recommended to say the least.
8.5/10
Honorable Mentions
This year, we wanted to include this track that just barely fell out of the top 10 this year. It very easily could have made the list, but the competition was so strong, it didn’t quite make it. Still, it would have been a crime not to, at least, mention this one track we heard this year.
Autopilot Off – Make a Sound (RIAA) This track is a real banger of a tune. With great vocals, guitar work, and lyrics, this track proves to be a very memorable and great listening experience.
8/10
This concludes yet another year of top 10 lists from us. This was a very interesting year for music reviews. Because of what we heard this year, we are now looking forward to what else we will uncover. We hope you enjoy reading this list as much as we enjoyed making it. Here’s to another great year here on Freezenet!
