Welcome to the 233rd instalment of our first impression video series. Today, we are unboxing the Playstation 5. Note that this video has no commentary at all. You can check out the video directly on YouTube or in the embed below:

It’s a new year, so naturally, I decided unveil the next console I plan on featuring on the channel. This one is the Playstation 5 which, as of this recording, is the latest Playstation console, though I know there is a Playstation 6 being developed at the moment.

One thing to note is that the small sealing sticker was pre-picked on my part. It was nicely flush to the box and completely clean. However, just before recording the video, I realized that it was going to be a pain to pick off. So, I pealed a little of it off so I could more easily pick it off in the video. I didn’t think it would be that entertaining to watch a slightly obscured box where I struggle to pick off the sealing sticker (the size of the console really made things difficult to stay in frame).

At any rate, it was interesting to actually handle the physical console even though I was worried I was going to somehow scuff it or somehow chip it.

The controller was definitely an interesting design. It is a slight departure from the Playstation 4 controller, but the touch pad and other features definitely made a return.

Yes, one of the foam blocks hit the microphone in the process.

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed my first Playstation 5 experience (other than buying it and hauling it home of course). It’s going to be an interesting year this year as I begin to explore the library, that’s for sure.
