This review covers the alternative rock track Sugarcult – Memory.
This track was released in 2004 on the album Palm Trees and Power Lines. This track also made an appearance on the game Burnout 3: Takedown.
The track starts with the drum kit. A guitar joins the track. After that, the vocals join the track. A bass guitar then joins in.
After a snare roll, the track goes into the main chorus. Vocals are backed by lead guitars. This is capped off with an instrumental section.
From there, the vocals take the track into the next verse. The lead guitars drop back a fair bit, utilizing much shorter notes in the process. Right after, the track goes into the main chorus. What follows is a guitar solo.
Most of the track then drops out as the vocals return. Parts of the track then returns part way through. After that, the track goes back into the main chorus again. The main chorus is extended a bit. It is followed by an instrumental section. After that, the guitars lead the track out.
One thing I do like about the track is the way the guitars sound. They really give this track a nice refreshing sound throughout.
Meanwhile, the vocals sound very nice. The lyrics additionally help give this track a nice upbeat mood throughout.
Overall, this is is definitely a very solid track. It’s got a good overall sound, the guitar work is nicely done and the vocals and lyrics are all very nice to listen to. So, a track that gets a thumbs up from me.
