Welcome to the 254th instalment of our first impression video series. Today, we are playing the Nintendo Switch game, Mario Golf: Super Rush for the first time. You can check out the video directly on YouTube or in the embed below:
One game I spotted while shopping around was the latest instalments of the Mario Golf series. I hadn’t really heard anything about this release, so I was curious and picked it up. Personally, I’m already glad I did because what I have found is that a lot of what made other Mario Golf games is also present here. What’s more, there are definitely tweaks to the formula that also make the game easier to play.
While what I showcased in the video was definitely a good portion of how the game plays, that wound up being only the beginning. When you go on your own golf adventure, you set up your own character called a “Mii”. You can customize it however you want, but the main idea is that you get some basic stats that aren’t all that great. However, as you progress through different challenges and tournaments, you’ll also earn experience points. So, when you level up, you can upgrade stats like how long your drive is, your accuracy, and even your capabilities of spinning the ball as well. This is something I had personally hoped would be a feature in past games and I am really intrigued by the fact that it is a feature that has finally been implemented.
Anyway, so far, I’m really liking what I’m seeing in this game so far and I am definitely looking forward to seeing how the rest of the game ultimately plays out.
I also wanted to hear from you. What are your thoughts on this game?
For those who have played this game, what are your thoughts on this one? Was this a great less heard about gem you think more people should try or did you think that the game went into an odd direction?
For those who have played other Mario Golf games, but not this one in particular, what did you think of what you saw here? Does this look like a game you’d be interested in checking out or do you think that you’ve already played plenty of other Mario Golf games and this one is just a bit much for you?
Also, for those who haven’t played any of the Mario Golf games, what are your thoughts? Does this look like an interesting game to add a little variety to your gaming experience or does the cartoon look and features seem a bit of a buzzkill for you? Let us know in the comments below!
