First Impression: Dark Souls (Playstation 3)

Welcome to the 213th instalment of our first impression video series. Today, we are playing the Playstation 3 game, Dark Souls for the first time. You can check out the video directly on YouTube or in the embed below:

This is one of those games I have had in my collection for a while, but I’ve been avoiding. Well, now that my collection of PS3 games is dwindling, I thought I might as well just get this experience over with and play this game.

My understanding of this game is the fact that it’s known to be a very hard game. So, I was fully expecting to just die a bunch of times playing this. Somehow, though, I managed to make the full 10 minutes of the video without dying. I don’t know how much of an accomplishment that is, but hey, that’s something at least, right?

Still, I’m curious to know your thoughts on this one. What did you think of this game?

For those who have played this game, how did you find this game? Was this a game that was as difficult as others have said it would be or was it not as bad as the reputation would suggest?

For those who have played other games in this franchise, but not this one, what did you think of what you saw? Is this a game you might be interested in trying finally or are you more into other games with this style these days?
