Welcome to the 255th instalment of our first impression video series. Today, we are playing the Playstation 5 game, Baldur’s Gate III for the first time. You can check out the video directly on YouTube or in the embed below:
A while ago, I posted a video about the single most expensive video game I have ever bought. If you haven’t seen that video, it is right here.
While I might not have gotten to actually playing this game right away, I am finally getting the chance to do so. I am doing so knowing that my previous experience of this franchise wasn’t the greatest, but so far, the game is shaping up to be better than my previous experiences. So, that is a positive first sign.
One thing to note is that I did slightly skip ahead of the character creation process. I opted for a rather interesting change and decided to play a lightening blue dragon born paladin just because the combination seemed atypical and unique. You can’t play a human all the time, right?
Anyway, this may be the first time my first impression of this franchise was positive and I’m definitely looking forward to getting further into this game.
On that note, I wanted to hear from you. What did you think of this game?
For those of you who have played this game, what did you think of your experience? Did you think that this game is absolutely worth the hype and you find yourself sinking hundreds of hours into this game or are you of the opinion that the game is, say, too slow paced for you?
For those who haven’t played this game, but have played previous games, what are your thoughts on what you saw here? Is this a game you’d totally be willing to try out, but haven’t yet for specific reasons or do you think that this game has a too “new school” feel to it and changes too much from the original games?
Finally, for those who haven’t played any of the Baldur’s Gate games, what are your thoughts on this one? Does this look like a nicely enriched game that you’d be down for trying out or do you think the top down perspective is maybe not your style of game? Let us know in the comments below!
