Top 10 Best Music Reviewed in 2020

So, we’ve been able to discuss what is the best and worst in video games. Now, we present to you the last top 10 list: best music we reviewed in 2020.

We’ve had quite a trip down memory lane. We’ve discussed the best and worst that we’ve seen in gaming this year. So, obviously, that means one thing is missing: The very best we’ve heard in music this year. It’s been a bit more difficult to find great music given that we were focusing on the early 90s. Still, we did find a few tracks worthy of this list. So, let’s get straight to it:

10. Enya – May it Be

(RIAA)
Familiar with the Lord of the Rings? Chances are, you’ll be familiar with this track. Made famous because of the movie, this track features excellent vocals. It would have performed better on the list if there was better variety in the instrumentation, but still, even then, it makes the list.
8/10

9. ZYON – No Fate (Struggle Continous Mix)

(Commercial)
On a completely different emotional side, this track features excellent piano. The voice samples work very well for this as well. With top notch music production quality, this one is definitely worth the listen.
8/10

8. Toy Box – The Sailor Song

(Commercial)
One of the more amusing tracks on the list. This track does feature some innuendo, but the production quality is certainly top notch. Every second of this is packed with something that makes this track work well.
8/10

7. Sum 41 – In Too Deep

(Commercial [Canada]/RIAA [US])
A great rock track that features nice lead guitars and an excellent guitar solo. With great vocals and well thought out lyrics, this track is certainly worthy of a listen.
8/10

6. System S.F. Feat. Anna – Look to the Sky (Original Mix)

(Unknown)
The full version of a track found in the Dance Dance Revolution series. This track boasts excellent synths and great vocals. A totally recommended track.
8/10

5. Clubstepper – Fiddle (Club Mix)

(Commercial)
Making it into the top 5, this track shows off a great use of a simple fiddle. The catchy rhythms and excellent backing synths make this track a real energy motivator.
8/10

4. Linkin Park – Numb

(RIAA)
One of the more famous tracks by this band. This track features lyrics that can be easily related to. Strong vocals only makes this track better and the many small details really pushes the quality for this track.
8/10

3. Redemptive – Lucid Voyage

(Commercial)
A rather new track for review. This one features a nice eclectic sound and rhythmic bassline that gives this track it’s own energy. The chopped vocals really do give this track a nice touch.
8/10

2. Da Buzz – Alive (C&N Club Mix)

(Commercial)
The scores are only getting higher. This track just barely missed out taking the top spot. Still, it’s worth listening to in its own right. This one features great synth melodies and vocals. What really sets this apart from other tracks this year is the progression of sound that helps push this one over the top.
8.5/10

1. Lost Tribe – Gamemaster (Lost Tribe’s ’99 Mix)

(Commercial)
A lot of people consider this one of the big classics of trance. It is easy to see why. Hypnotic voice samples and well thought out synth melodies make this definitely the track of the year. The overall flow also makes this one of the better tracks we’ve ever heard. Easy to see why so many look back to a track like this so fondly.
8.5/10

So, that is it. The last of the top 10 lists. We hope you enjoyed reading them as much as we enjoyed making them. Here’s to another great year of checking out what is great in this world.
