Review: Soundgarden – Black Hole Sun (Rock) Drew Wilson | May 16, 2016 This review covers the rock track Soundgarden – Black Hole Sun. This track was released in 1994 on the album Superunknown. One element in this track is the various guitars. Some of it sounded OK, but others, like the more acoustic ones in the beginning, sounded a little off more than anything else. The vocals were OK, but nothing huge. The backup vocals, however, just sounded weird to me. The lyrics is really where this track loses me. I get that this is about a solar eclipse, but what I fail to get is the point of this track from a lyrical perspective. Generally speaking, I get that there are fans of this track, but I personally don’t get what is so great about this track. It’s not absolutely terrible. I’ve heard far worse. Unfortunately, this track doesn’t do anything for me. There is a sense of distinctiveness in this track, but nothing I would really want to listen to.
