Review: BinauralBeats – IQ Enhancement 9.6hz Theta (Ambient) Drew Wilson | November 23, 2016 This review covers the atmospheric ambient track BinauralBeats – IQ Enhancement 9.6hz Theta. This track was released in 2015 online for free. One thing that is immediately obvious in this track is the fact that there’s no real melody involved here. Surprisingly, this isn’t a bad thing. What really made this track work was the effects that drift in and out of the track. They add such an interesting texture to the track and do an interesting job of filling in the high frequency sounds. The low bassy frequencies were filled using what sounds like some sort of sci-fi computer of some sort. I thought this sort of added an element of mystery to the track. The subtle synth pads added a relaxing tone to the overall sound. I thought it worked quite well here. One final thing to add was the wind chime effects also added a certain amount of dimension to this track. Another successful element that sits well within the track. Overall, this track took a more unusual approach of just being atmospheric without any kind of real melody. This creative line of attack ended up working in the tracks favor. The effects and synthetic pads worked. The wind chime sounds and the bassy sounds added a lot to the track. As a result, this track gets a thumbs up from me.
