Review: ATC – Around the World (La La La) (Pop)

By Drew Wilson

This review covers the pop track ATC – Around the World (La La La).

This particular track was released in 2000 on the album Planet Pop.

One thing that makes this track distinct, and it is heard right away, are the melodic bells that are heard in the beginning. There’s more than one set of bell sounds throughout the track, but the ones in the beginning have a very distinct sound to it that makes this track pop the most.

The vocals in this track may drift subtly into cliche, but the lyrics were well sung. These female vocals are backed by a subtle male vocalist as well which gives the vocals its own warmth.

It’s quite unusual for me to put the words “pop” and “good” in the same sentence, but this is one of those rare pop songs that actually sounds good. I thought that this was an enjoyable track to listen to. While it may be a more or less forgotten track these days, it will ring a bell for music listeners who have been around since the 90’s. Most likely, the reaction might be, “Oh yeah, I remember that song!” Whether that person enjoyed it or not may be another story, but I’m personally one of the people that actually liked the sound.

Score

7.5/10
