Review: OneRepublic – Counting Stars (Pop) Drew Wilson | July 14, 2014 By Drew Wilson This review covers the pop track OneRepublic – Counting Stars. This particular track was released in 2013 one the Native album. This track seems to borrow from the Madonna track Hung Up at the beginning. It’s this electronic sound that makes me question why it was listed as acoustic on some sites. This track also has some soft rock influences. Probably the only distinctive feature that I could really hear was the ability of the male vocalist to hit some fairly high notes and not sound completely terrible. Beyond that, I didn’t really hear anything in this track that I could count as particularly memorable. If I could think of one word to describe this track, there are a few candidates, but “boring” is certainly the top one that comes to my mind. There’s nothing here that motivates me enough to want to really listen to this track a second time. I simply am not feeling this track whatsoever.
