Top 10 Best Music Reviewed in 2023

We’ve got one more top 10 list for you. This time, we are counting down the 10 best music tracks we’ve reviewed all year.

After counting down the top 10 best video games of the year, we decided to finish off this yearly tradition of counting down the top 10 best tracks we’ve reviewed all year. One thing is for sure, this one really got us thinking because there were certainly a number of track deserving of being placed in the top 10 list. While the top three tracks were no real contest, the remaining tracks really had us thinking and splitting hairs. After a lot of deliberation, we think we’ve finally nailed down our favourites. So, here is this years top 10 best music tracks we’ve reviewed this year!

10. Prozzak – Strange Disease

It’s not often you see a pop track make it on a list like this, but this year, it finally happened. This track features some interesting lyrics that evolves into a full-fledged story. Female vocals really helped elevate the track nicely. With a mix of a whole lot of different influences, this track edges out a bunch of other worthy tracks to take the bottom of the list… barely.

9. Stabbing Westward – The Thing I Hate

The vocals and lyrics really gave this track a nice emotional polish. Underneath, there’s some great synths that compliment a lot of great rock elements. It’s a great combination that got this track to snag the ninth spot.

8. Solarstone – Seven Cities (V-One’s ‘Living Cities’ Remix)

There’s certainly a number of trance fans that call this a classic. It’s easy to see why. A great guitar-like synth really gives this track a well realized emotion. The choir elements and synth strings also give this track a real edge. A great track with such positive vibes.

7. Ian Van Dahl – Castles In the Sky (Extended Mix)

Keeping with the theme of trance classics, this one features great vocals and nice melodic synths. Couple that with a great sense of progression, this track winds up being a very worthy addition to this years list.

6. Yellowcard – Breathing

If you are familiar with rock or Burnout 3: Takedown, you are definitely familiar with this track. A highlight to the game soundtrack and a highlight all on its own. This track features great vocals, great guitars, and great transitions. All this mixes down into a very nice flow from beginning to end.

5. Red Jumpsuit Apparatus – Face Down

The first track to take this years top 5 is one that deals with a rather delicate topic of domestic abuse. While a hard one to tackle, this one tackles it incredibly well. With great vocals and guitars, this track is definitely worthy of placing so high on the list.

4. Story of the Year – And the Hero Will Drown

Taking the number four slot is one many Need for Speed fans will be familiar with. With great guitars and well done vocals, this track manages to stand out quite well from the rest. The added benefit of great drums and mastering certainly didn’t hurt either.

3. My Chemical Romance – I’m Not Okay (I Promise)

If you grew up in the late 90s to early 2000’s, this track will likely cause you to say, “Wait, I know this one!” Little wonder why it was included in everything including Burnout 3: Takedown. With an interesting set of themes, great vocals, and well done guitars, this track manages to snag the number three position.

2. Miikka Leinonen Feat Kim Kiona – Breath Of The Wild (Original Mix)

we said “wow” in the review and we’ll say “wow” here. Wow! This track features impressive vocals and stunning synths. Contrary to the name, this is a breathtaking track that is truly a highly recommended track.

1. Mark Pledger Feat. Melinda Gareh – Time Stands Still (Original Mix)

It’s almost difficult to imagine that anything could top number 2 this year, but this track manages to do that in stunning fashion. The tracks buildup alone is great. Once that drop hits, that’s when the track goes to a whole new level. If that weren’t enough, the stunning vocals turns this track into an absolutely amazing track. To make things even better, the synths just add that extra bit of quality to make it a truly breathtaking track. Totally deserving of the title of best track we’ve heard all year. Just amazing!
