Review: Toxic Twins – Skyscraper (Trancid Mix) (Trance)

This review covers the hard trance track Toxic Twins – Skyscraper (Trancid Mix).

This track was released in 1994 on the E.P. Doomsday. It comes with a couple of other tracks.

The track starts with a synth string and piano. The piano has a delay effect added to it. A bassline comes in before the synth string drops out. A snare roll comes in along with a 303-like synth. From there, a secondary synth melody comes in.

After that, the melodies drop out save for one synth. A synth effect is also making occasional appearances as well. Two synth melodies then come in gradually. The synth string makes a return.

From there, the drop hits. This leaves the synth string, bassline, and piano. A second synth melody gradually comes in. A snare roll also helps build the track back up. The trance drum kit then rejoins the track. The piano continues through this section along with a 303-like synth

Another drop hits and a few synth melodies and the piano stick around. Some more elements then drop out. Other elements then drop out and the track ends.

One thing I do like about the track is that it has some nice piano work. It makes the track an overall pleasant listening experience. Adding to this is the synth pads and bassline which gives this track some nice warmth. This adds to the overall pleasant sound.

Overall, this is a pretty decent track. It has a nice piano element along with some nice synth pads. The bassline also helps make this track a pleasant listening experience. While I wouldn’t call it amazing, it’s still a good one to listen to. A decent track all around.

Score
7/10
