Review: Toad the Wet Sprocket – All I Want (Pop)

This review covers the pop rock track Toad the Wet Sprocket – All I Want.

This track was released in 1992 as part of a single.

The track starts with a drum kit. Shortly after, the vocals come in with a guitar element.

Shortly after, the vocals take the track into the main chorus. This is caped off with a brief instrumental section.

From there, the vocals take the track into the next verse. Shortly after, the vocals take this track into the next round in the main chorus. The vocals extend the main chorus at the end of the section. This is capped off with a guitar solo.

After this, the vocals take the track back to the next round in the main chorus. Some backup vocals also join the track. The main chorus is repeated before the vocals gradually end the track.

There are some good things about this track. The guitar elements do sound nice. Another positive is the fact that the vocals actually sound quite good. This is especially true with the main chorus. Everything does come together quite nicely.

A big pitfall is the fact that the lyrics are a bit on the skimpy side. There’s really all of two verses with three rounds of the main chorus. As a result, the track seems a bit light on variety as if it was a quick splash and dash deal.

Overall, this is a pretty solid track. It’s god good guitar elements and nicely done vocals. The main chorus sounds quite good. It’s unfortunate that there isn’t much going on with the lyrics, so the track sounds limited. So, a solid performing track all around.
