Review: Pitfall (Atari 2600) Drew Wilson | March 31, 2014 By Drew Wilson In this review, we check out the Atari 2600 version of the adventure game Pitfall. Is this game worth playing? We find out. This version of Pitfall was released in 1982. Earlier, we reviewed the Atari 5200 port of this game. This game is almost identical to the Atari 5200 port, so if you want to know about the mechanic of this game, check out the Atari 5200 port review. This review will focus on the very few differences this game has. The differences is simply cosmetic. The graphics are a little more pale, but otherwise, they are very similar. Since this version was released two years earlier, the quality of the graphics are quite good all things considered. The sound quality is somewhat reduced, but the differences are rather subtle and seem to reflect hardware limitations. Overall, this game is basically an earlier version of the Pitfall as seen in the Atari 5200. It’s a great game all around. Overall Furthest point in game: Made it two screens past the third crocodile pond. General gameplay: 19/25 Replay value: 8/10 Graphics: 9/10 Audio: 3/5 Overall rating: 78% Drew Wilson on Twitter: @icecube85 Share this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on Tumblr (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pinterest (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)MoreClick to print (Opens in new window)Click to email a link to a friend (Opens in new window)Like this:Like Loading...
