Review: Ohmna – The Sun Will Shine (Full Moon Mix) (Progressive Trance) Drew Wilson | August 5, 2014 By Drew Wilson This review covers the progressive trance track Ohmna – The Sun Will Shine (Full Moon Mix). This particular track was released in 2009 along with two other remixes. What is particularly noticeable is the particularly simple melody. Tracks like this easily run the risk of being boring and repetitive, but this track varies the overall sound of the main melody to keep it fresh overall. Another thing that is particularly noticeable is the sidechain effect (that use of the audio going up and down seemingly behind the main bass drum). A good sidechain can help add rhythm, but a sidechain can also give a track a sort of annoying edge to it. Personally, I felt there was too much sidechain in this track and made this track have that edge of annoyance. It’s a shame because this track was otherwise very well done. Overall, I really liked the constantly evolving melody. While the melody itself was simple, it’s constantly made fresh throughout the track with constant effect changes. Unfortunately, some of the overall quality was hampered by the excessive sidechain, so this track ends up being merely a pretty good track to listen to instead of a great track.
