Review: Nirvana – Smells Like Teen Spirit (Rock)

This review covers the rock track Nirvana – Smells Like Teen Spirit.

This track was released in 1991 on the album Nevermind.

This track is often played to this day on mainstream rock radio stations in a strangely bizarre attempt to stay relevant. It’s strange because this track is well over a decade old now and, well, last generation music.

There is some things going for this track. The electric guitars sound quite good. Between the heavy chords and the picking, this track is backed by really good guitar sounds.

That said, this track is by no means perfect. The lyrics and the vocals were a negative for me on this track. The vocals are a negative because it’s next to impossible to hear half of them. They have moments where they are inaudible (something Weird Al even made fun of). The lyrics themselves make next to no sense. I couldn’t really make heads or tales what they mean.

Overall, this track was fairly decent. Great electric guitar sounds in this track, but mired in incomprehensible lyrics. So, overall, it’s just decent.

Score
