Review: Nine Days – Absolutely (The Story of a Girl) (Rock)

This review covers the alternative rock track Nine Days – Absolutely (The Story of a Girl).

This track was released in 2000 on the album The Maddening Crowd.

The track starts with the main vocals singing out the main chorus as a solo. This is backed by a drum kit dominated by a high hat. The lead guitars come in for a brief instrumental section.

After that, the vocals take the track into a verse. This is backed by the guitars and drum kit. The guitars then change when the vocals hit the bridge. After that, the vocals take the track into the main chorus. This is capped off with a short instrumental section.

From there, the vocals take the track into the next verse with a similar backing as the first verse. After that, the track goes into the main chorus with a slightly altered lyrics. An instrumental section caps off this section. This is followed by a guitar solo.

The vocals then go through another bridge before they go into the main chorus. The difference is that they are backed by just high hats. After that, the vocals repeat the main chorus with the full instrumental backing. At the end, there is a snare roll. The vocals then repeat a line and the guitars then lead the track out.

One notable aspect of the track is that it really has a fun and upbeat emotion throughout. The somewhat energetic backing through lead guitars can be a bit of a dangerous mix. This is because it runs the risk of being annoying, but this track doesn’t cross over into that territory. That is always nice.

The vocals work very well. I have no real complaints about that. Lead guitars are nicely done as they give the track a nice ebb and flow.

The only thing I can see is that some people may not like these kinds of moods in their rock music. So, it may not be entirely for everyone, but I personally don’t mind it.

Overall, this is a very solid track. It has good vocals and great backing elements. It has a nice upbeat and playful mood throughout while not being annoying at the same time. So, I consider it a very solid track.
