Review: Herbie – Right Type of Mood (House)

This review covers the eurohouse track Herbie – Right Type of Mood.

This track was released in 1995 on the album Fingers.

The track starts with a foghorn sound. This is followed shortly by some shouting with a slight delay effect. From there, a drum kit starts to make an appearance. After a bit, the track drops out and is almost exclusively synth melodies. After a bit, the track goes into a much more four to the floor style track.

At this point, the synth melodies fade out and the vocals take over. The synth melodies are still there, but are pulled back by quite a bit. Eventually, the track goes into the main chorus where the main synth melodes come back on top of it all.

From there, the track goes into verse with the synth melodies pulled back again. The track then goes into the main chorus. At that point, the track then goes into another verse. The track sounds like it’s going into another main chorus, but is actually pulled back and has a more classical key sound. After this, the track builds back up again.

The track then slides into the main chorus once again. The track then ends with a foghorn and is led out by the vocals.

One thing I do like about the track is the faster BPM. The higher tempo gives this track some great energy.

The variety in the synths is also a nice thing to hear. Even the unexpected classical keys is nice to hear as it gives the track a boost in variety.

The only problem I really have with this track is the fact that the vocals can be hard to understand. This ultimately becomes a minor criticism of mine because this somehow doesn’t hurt the integrity of this track by a whole lot. It’s still a problem, but a minor one.

Overall, this is a very solid track. It has some great vibes and interesting references in the lyrics. The synth and key elements are nicely done. I also like the higher tempo of the track as it gives the track some nice energy. An overall very well done track.
