Review: F.O.O.L. – Feelings (Original Mix) (Electro Progressive House)

This review covers the progressive electro house F.O.O.L. – Feelings (Original Mix).

This track was released in 2013.

At first, the prominent feature of this track is the general melody. The melody does a very good job at justifying the title of this track. The vocal sample was just icing on the cake. The way it evolved was great as well.

As I was listening, I was about ready to say that this was a really good track, but then the track suddenly breaks into that standard electro (some would say dubstep) sound. Sometimes, I don’t mind this sound if it brings something interesting to the table. Unfortunately, this track brought nothing new. In fact, it was almost as if this track said “insert that dubstep sound here” regardless of how the track sounded. Sadly, it was seemingly just tacked on with very little thought. It didn’t mesh all that well with the rest of the track and it was actually very jarring to a track that otherwise had decent flow to it. In short, it killed the vibe of this track a fair bit.

So, overall, I thought the electro sound that was tacked on kind of spoiled an otherwise very good track. This kinds of sounds can work under certain circumstances, but this track wasn’t one of them. So, unfortunately, I have to say that this track is merely good, but nothing too special.

Score
