Welcome to the 50th instalment of our first impression video series. Today, we are playing the Playstation 3 game, MotorStorm: Apocalypse for the first time. You can check out the video directly on YouTube or in the embed below:

I’m quite thrilled that this is the 50th edition of the first impression series. It’s been quite a journey to get to this point. I want to thank the small handful of you who have been checking out these videos. For me, this has been as much of a journalism initiative as it has been a learning experience. My understanding is that it has been, at times, an interesting learning experience for you as well. I’m quite happy that others are also taking some interesting away from this whole project.

On a side note on the Freezenet side of things, the list at the bottom will just stay limited to the last 50 instalments. In the next first impression video, we plan on dropping the oldest game from the list and continue on like this accordingly. So, this will be the last post to have a complete list of the entire series because, well, this series is quite large now.

As I said in the video, I got plenty of stuff in store for this series and I’m looking forward to unveiling these additions when the time comes. Here’s to another 50 videos!

So, something did happen during the video I had hoped wouldn’t happen. Since the beginning, I’ve occasionally experienced a black flash while playing Playstation 3 games. It sometimes cuts out the audio as well, unfortunately. With this video, I found out that the video restores more quickly in the recording. So, when I unpaused the game, it was pretty much the moment I got video back. In the recording, I paused it right when the black flash started and it ended long before I got video back on my end.

This problem has been happening exclusively on my Playstation 3, so I can only conclude that it’s not the capture card. It can either be the HDMI converter box or the console itself. Because of this, I have no real way of fixing this issue. Something I’ve been having to bare with all this time.

For those of you who have experienced this series, what did you think of this particular game? Was it a nice addition to the series or did it leave something to be desired compared to the rest of the series? For those who haven’t played this franchise, does this look like an interesting game to play or are you less inclined to play this game? Let us know in the comments below!

This video is part of our first impression video series. Below is a list of previously made first impression video’s we’ve made in the past:
