Review: Svenson & Gielen Featuring Jan Johnston – Beachbreeze (Remember The Summer) (Original Vocal Mix) (Trance)

This review covers the progressive trance track Svenson & Gielen Featuring Jan Johnston – Beachbreeze (Remember The Summer).

This track was released in 2003 as part of a single.

The track starts off with a high hat, and a basic drum kit. A filtered hat joins the track. Another high hat joins the track. Some filtered white noise and a clap joins the track. A synth then gradually fades in. A synth effect makes an appearance. After another synth joins the track, a snare roll makes an appearance.

The main vocals joins the track. Backup vocals make an appearance. Chopped vocals also make an appearance. Another synth joins the track. The main vocals continue on for a verse. A piano joins the track. Another snare roll makes an appearance.

After that, another synth joins in and the main vocals take the track through the main chorus. The chopped vocals make a brief appearance. Some of the synths drop out as the piano continues. A snare roll makes an appearance as the vocals take the track into the next verse. A snare roll makes another appearance along with some chopped vocals.

A synth rejoins the track as the vocals take the track into the main chorus. A snare roll makes an appearance as the vocals continue the main chorus backed by another synth. A drop hits and the vocals extend the main chorus with piano backing.

Some whale sound samples make an appearance as a synth melody and bassline gradually fade in. A snare then rejoins the track. After a snare roll, the vocals take the track into the main chorus again with most of the elements rejoining the track. A chopped vocal makes an appearance again. The main vocals then have some delay effects added. The vocals then drop out with the synths taking over.

Parts of the drum kit fade out and the whale sample makes a return. The piano and synths are then all that’s left along with the whale sounds and some pads. Everything then gradually fades out with the piano largely leading the track out.

One thing I really like about the track is the main vocals. They sound absolutely great in the track. They make the quieter parts sound dreaming while the main chorus receives a whole lot of energy from them. They are great throughout.

What I also like about the track is the lyrics. It has a very nice level of complexity not typically associated with this genre. In this case, it works very well and adds a nice level of progression throughout.

Another thing I like about the track is the fact that the synths and piano give this track a nice level of complexity. While the piano is about the only thing that really stands out in any significant manner, the other elements do add a nice amount of quality to the track overall.

Overall, this is a very solid track worth listening to. The vocals are great and the synths are very solid. That added piano sure adds a lot to the track to. There’s nothing to really complain about here, it’s just an overall very solid worthwhile track to listen to.
