Review: Sugar Ray – Mean Machine (Rock)

This review covers the rock track Sugar Ray – Mean Machine.

This track was released in 1995 on the album Lemonade and Brownies. This track also appeared on the Road Rash video games.

My understanding is that this track is about a motor cycle, though that may have been helped by playing Road Rash 64.

The vocals are definitely a major part of this track. Between the main vocals and backup, I thought this was quite well done.

The guitar riffs were also great. The subtle high notes mixed in with the chords added a nice touch to them.

The snare also took an unusually large role in the track and worked quite well – especially towards the beginning.

Overall, this track was great with the vocals, the drum kit, and the guitars. Everything about this said mean, so the title was definitely well suited to the overall emotion throughout this track. A great track.
