This review covers the house track Snap! – Rhythm is a Dancer.
This track was released in 1992 on the album The Madman Returns.
The track starts with a bassline, synth melody, and the occasionally snare. This is joined by a synth string. After that, some vocal elements come in on a non-lyrical basis.
After this, the track builds up as the vocals become lyrical as the main verse plays out. From there, the main verse is repeated with a number of elements coming in. This is capped off with a piano element.
At this point, some male vocals take over and do some rapping for the verse.
The main chorus then plays out again. After that, the main chorus repeats, then the track breaks down.
One thing I do like about this is the fact that the main chorus is very catchy and memorable. The vocals, lyrics, synths, and drum kit just come together so well there.
The rap section adds a nice amount of variety to the track. So, I thought the inclusion of it is a great idea here. It also sounds pretty good to me which is a huge bonus in my books.
I also liked the variety the track was able to push out. It can push things with several synths and vocals, but it can also pull back with just a keys element. So, I like the flow of it.
Overall, this is a very solid track. It has good vocals and a catchy main chorus. The rap elements give this track some good variety and it has a nice flow. Definitely a track worth listening to.
