Review: Simon Patterson – Miss You (Original Mix) (Trance)

This review covers the progressive trance track Simon Patterson – Miss You (Original Mix).

This track was released in 2010 along with 2 other tracks.

This track both starts and ends with a slightly harder trance sound. The tech elements by themselves were pretty good.

What is a bit surprising about this track is the fact that, in spite of the harder tech trance sounds at the beginning and end, the middle of the track is simply uplifting trance. The piano solo w3as quite nice. What makes it even better is the fact that the piano was backed by some well done soothing pads.

The subsequent build-up was nicely done and echos the piano portion very nicely.

My only real complaint about this track was that, while there was a good effort in meshing uplifting trance and tech trance, it still felt like there was a mismatch in styles throughout the track. The tech portions worked well. The uplifting portions worked well. Unfortunately, there was a bit of an oil and water effect going on with this track as it just didn’t quite mesh well enough together for my taste.

Still, in spite of the slightly awkward mishmash of styles, the track was still a very good track to hear. It has some great sounds both with the tech trance sound and the uplifting trance sound. As a result, it still gets a thumbs up from me.
