Review: Robert Miles – Children (Dream Vrs.) (Trance)

This review covers the trance track Robert Miles – Children (Dream Vrs.).

This track was released in 1995 as a single.

The track starts with a simple synth melody with some subtle synth pad backing. A piano then comes in. A guitar element then comes in. Some choir and pads then come in. An additional synth plays out as well.

A synth effect, snare roll, and piano then build the track up after a drop. From there, the trance drum kit comes in as the piano plays out some more. An additional synth comes in to back the track. Another synth melody comes in to play in a more subtle manner.

Another drop comes in with a synth effect. This leaves the kick and the bassline. A synth string comes in. This has a delay effect applied to it. A high hat joins the track. The piano then mirrors the synth string melody. A snare roll comes in along with some cymbal crashes. After that, the main piano melody plays out with some synth strings backing it. A synth effect and synth melody plays out some more. A snare roll comes in and an additional synth element accompanies the track.

From there, the kick and bassline plays out as everything else drops out. A synth melody comes in. The rest of the drum kit comes in. A more subtle synth comes in. After several cymbal crashes, the track then ends.

If you know anything about 90s trance, chances are, you’ve heard of this track. Some people call this one of the most classic trance tracks of that era.

One thing I really like about the track is that piano. It really anchors the track so well and provides such a great melody. The fact that this is backed by some great guitars, strings, and synths only makes this track even better.

I also like how this track flows. It has such great drops and build ups. Everything about this track in terms of flow works so well.

Overall, it is very easy to see why a lot of people call this a classic 90s trance track. It’s got great piano work, nice guitars, and great synth elements backing it. The emotion in this track is nice and prominent. The flow is great and everything about this track is so likeable. A great track to be sure.
