Review: P!nk – Blow Me (One Last Kiss) (Pop)

This review covers the pop track P!nk – Blow Me (One Last Kiss).

This track was released in 2012 on the album The Truth About Love.

One element of this track is the vocals. They were decent, though there were moments where it was hard to understand the lyrics due to subtle slurring.

Another element in this is, surprisingly, a number of rock elements found in this track. The elements themselves were pretty decent.

The good part about the lyrics is the fact that they didn’t have that many cliche’s that seem to plague so many other pop tracks. The bad news is that they are a bit confusing and hard to follow.

Another downside to this track is the mastering. Everything was punched up so much that it started overwhelming the vocals. Different elements ended up competing against each other rather than sit harmoniously with each other. As a result, you get that processed sense in this track.

The other pitfall of this track is that while there were actually a number of good elements in this track, they were highly compressed time-wise. The good moments last all of 3 or 4 seconds, so I don’t actually get much of a chance to enjoy the finer points of this track. So, that was a little disappointing.

Overall, this was actually one of the better pop tracks I’ve heard in a while. Unfortunately, the bar set for pop music lately is extremely low, so that wasn’t all that hard of an accomplishment. There were good elements in this track, but they were overshadowed by excessive compression. The good parts were so short, they never really had much of a chance to shine. So, this track may be above average, but doesn’t really accomplish more then that.
