Review: Nelson – (Can’t Live Without Your) Love and Affection (Rock)

This review covers the rock track Nelson – (Can’t Live Without Your) Love and Affection.

This track was released in 1990 on the album After the Rain.

The track starts with two guitars. It doesn’t take long before the vocals come in. The drum kit then takes a more prominent roll in the track.

Shortly after, the main chorus comes in. An electric guitar does join in, but it is rather subtle. This section is topped off with the various elements pulling back.

From there, the next verse comes in. There’s nothing really substantially different between this and the main chorus. It doesn’t take long before the main chorus comes in.

After the main chorus, a guitar solo comes in. At the end, the vocals come back in. The main chorus quickly follows.

The main chorus repeats as the track fades out and ends.

Probably the best part of this track is the guitar solo. It really did give this track a great sound.

The vocals are decent. They do round out the track a fair bit.

I would have liked to have heard some more features on the track. The elements on some of the verses are virtually identical to that of the main chorus. So the variety does fall a bit short.

Overall, this is a nicely done track. It have a very nicely done guitar solo and the vocals are pretty decent. It could have benefited from some more varied sections of the track besides the guitar solo, but still, this is a pretty solid track.
