This review covers the rock track Mick Jagger – Don’t Tear Me Up.
This track was released in 1993 on the album Wandering Spirit.
The track starts with what is possibly an organ in the background. The vocals come in along with the guitars. A drum kit then joins the track. After a brief instrumental section, the vocals continue on with the verse.
From there, the vocals take the track into the main chorus. Every so often, the lead guitars make an appearance. This is capped off with an instrumental section that contains a piano.
After that, the vocals take the track into the next verse. From there, the vocals then take the track into the main chorus again. There is more emphasis on the lead guitars in this section.
Right after that, the vocals take the track into the next verse. After that, there is a guitar solo. From there, the vocals then go into the next verse. This is backed by some choir elements.
The vocals lead the track straight into the next main chorus. The main chorus is repeated with some backup vocals making an appearance. After that, the vocals lead the track out.
The first thought I have is that the lead guitars do sound alright. They help build up the main chorus pretty well. This is especially true with the small variances in the main chorus as it is repeated.
Meanwhile, the vocals sound decent enough. It’s not exactly impressive by any means, but they sound OK. The backup vocals sound fairly decent as well.
A problem I have with this track is that there’s nothing that really elevates it into anything special. It does the basics to be half decent, but there is nothing that gives it any kind of “wow” factor.
Overall, this is a half decent track. While the vocals and backup vocals sound alright and the lead guitars sound pretty good, the track is missing any kind of “wow” factor for me. An OK track, but nothing huge.
