Review: John O’Callaghan Feat. Lo-Fi Sugar – Never Fade Away (Ambient) Drew Wilson | July 31, 2017 This review covers the vocal ambient track John O’Callaghan Feat. Lo-Fi Sugar – Never Fade Away. This track was released in 2009 on the album Never Fade Away. While this artist and this album is known for the trance, this ambient track managed to pop into this album perhaps as a bit of a surprise to some fans. This track lays on the soft synth string which serves as a base for the overall ambient vibe. It then adds some subtle piano along with the vocals. It also even has some subtle guitar elements thrown in as well. While these elements alone made for a great track, the vocals really took this track to the next level. The vocals were simply stunning with how smooth they are. The subtle addition of the previously mentioned elements just brought out how impressive the sound is. The lyrics were quite hopeful and worked incredibly well for the overall vibe. One thing about this track is that it somehow gets better almost every time I listen to it. There is a degree of simplicity in the string synth, but in this case, it just works so well. Overall, this was an incredibly well done. It’s got emotion, it’s got great vocals, it has excellent audio balance. It is ultimately the best tracks I’ve heard all year so far. Score 9.5/10 Drew Wilson on Twitter: @icecube85 and Google+.
