Review: Jesus Jones – Right Here Right Now (Rock)

This review covers the alternative rock track Jesus Jones – Right Here Right Now.

This track was released in 1991 on the album Doubt.

The track starts with a drum kit and a synth. After this brief section, the guitars take over backed by the drum kit. It doesn’t take long before the vocals to come in.

At this point, the track picks up with some brass elements going into the main chorus. This section is capped off with a short instrumental section. Going into the next verse, the vocals are backed by some guitar elements.

The next round in the main chorus takes over. This is capped off with an instrumental section. After this, the main chorus hits again. This main chorus is repeated with some additional vocal elements being added. The track is then led out with some brass elements.

One thing I do like about this track is the more positive and upbeat vibes it’s able to give. This is expressed through the lighter guitars, brass sections, and lyrics. It is ultimately a good feel good track.

Another thing I like is the use of some subtle synths and brass elements. In this case, they really add some good variety to the overall sound.

I also thought the vocals were very nice. They have that rock edge, but that softness to carry a good upbeat track at the same time. It fits perfectly for this track as far as I’m concerned.

The only thing I will say about this track is that there is not much going on in the way of verses. There’s definitely at least one after the main chorus, but it is generally brief. If it weren’t for the solid instrumental section, I would call this a one trick pony track. It’s still a bit on the lean side, but it’s not a terrible attribute.

Overall, this is a pretty well done track. It has some positive vibes and great use of the various instruments throughout. The vocals work very well for this type of track as well. It’s a little lean on the verses, but this blow is softened by the interesting instrumental sections. So, an overall pretty solid track.
