Review: Hydro Aquatic & Vir2l Vision – Vigor (Cold Blue Remix) (Trance)

This review covers the progressive trance track Hydro Aquatic & Vir2l Vision – Vigor (Cold Blue Remix).

This track was released in 2010 along with the original mix.

During the initial build-up, the track incorporates synth, piano, and a bassline. Gradually, more pads are added that are layered in a sort of sub-melody. Some elements have a sidechain effect, though it is a bit subtle. An additional sub-melody is also used right before the breakdown.

After the breakdown, the main melody comes in. A way to describe this main melody is that it’s sort of a cross between Silvertear – So Deep (Original Mix), Silvertear – So Deep (Perfect Sphere Remix), and Vision84 – Highway Central (Nitrous Oxide Remix). A melody that was nicely done.

Piano backs the main melody as well as some of the elements found in the first build-up.

While there are some very good elements in this track, the best parts are a little short lived. By the time you start getting into the track, the final breakdown is already occurring. This is a little unfortunate given the potential of the track.

Overall, this is a pretty solid track. It has some good elements and nice vibes going for it. It would have been better if the track took things to the next level instead of just breaking down once it started getting very good, but there is plenty to enjoy in this track. A pretty good track.
