This review covers the pop track Hootie & the Blowfish – Only Wanna Be With You.
This track was released in 1995 as a single.
The track starts with a guitar and part of a drum kit. The drum kit then comes in more full. After that, the vocals come in for a first verse. A guitar then takes over for a moment.
From there, the vocals then continue on with a verse. The vocals then take the track into the first verse. There is a brie guitar element that splits up the chorus.
After that, the vocals then take the track into the next verse. Shortly after that, the vocals take the track into the next round of the main chorus. A guitar solo then comes in.
From there, the vocals take the track into the next round of the main chorus. After that, the guitars take over again. The vocals then take the track into the next verse. From there, the vocals take the track into the main chorus again. Guitars then take over partly as the vocals extend the main chorus. The guitars then lead the track out.
The first thing that came to my mind is that there really isn’t a whole lot to get excited over. For one thing, the vocals are alright, but they get to be a bit monotonousness after a while. They just seem to hit the same note or two for so long.
The guitars are probably the strongest part of the track. They do a decent job at keeping this track interesting.
Overall, this is a fairly mediocre track. The vocals are OK, but do get to hit the same notes a bit too much. The guitars are decent, but nothing overly exciting. So, an OK track, but you wouldn’t be missing much if you missed this one.
