Review: Gareth Emery feat. Lucy Saunders – Sanctuary (Club Mix) (Progressive Trance)

By Drew Wilson

This review covers the progressive trance track Gareth Emery feat. Lucy Saunders – Sanctuary (Club Mix).

This track was released in 2010 along with a Sean Tyas remix.

What really jumps out at me is the uplifting progressive trance emotion. The overall melody was also very strong and the vocals that were also in there were great as well. there is some sidechained elements that was just enough to add rhythm, but not enough to really distract from the tracks stronger elements.

When I got to the electric guitar part of this track, I was thinking, “wow! This is going to get a perfect score!” Unfortunately, by the time I had that thought, the track suddenly breaks down and I was left disappointed with how short the best part of the track was. If that electric guitar portion close to the end of the track was longer and everything else stayed the same, I would have definitely given this track a perfect score. I know it may be strange for some to read about someone criticizing a nearly 8 minute long track for being too short, but that is my criticism.

Still, this is a great track. It’s packed full of great elements and progresses incredibly well. Unfortunately, it wasn’t long enough, so I can’t award it with a perfect score, but it still did get a strong score from me anyway.

Score
8.5/10
