Review: First State Ft. Sarah Howells – Brave (First State’s Crossroads Remix) (Trance) Drew Wilson | March 8, 2017 This review covers the progressive trance track First State Ft. Sarah Howells – Brave (First State’s Crossroads Remix). This track was released in 2009 as part of a “second version” EP which includes an additional remix. Probably the biggest part of this track was the vocals. This was an excellent feature of this track as it really gets my attention. The lyrics were also very nicely done. While they weren’t hugely complex, the simplicity didn’t hurt this track in any way. The bassline was rather gritty. It wasn’t a bad thing to have in this track, so, not bad. The chords definitely gave the sound some dynamic sound. The breakdown and the main melody (both the synth and piano) was really where the synth sound was at. The build-up along with the vocals was also nicely done. The synth pads during the main part of the track was very well done even if they are rather subtle. Overall, there are plenty of elements that make this track great. Some elements were simply not bad, but the best parts of the track helped ensure that this was still a very good track to listen to. Definitely a worthwhile listen. Score 7.5/10 Drew Wilson on Twitter: @icecube85 and Google+.
