Review: Filter – Hey Man Nice Shot (Rock)

This review covers the industrial rock track Filter – Hey Man Nice Shot.

This track was released in 1995 on the album Short Bus.

The track starts with a subtle sound. A bass guitar then comes in. A drum kit then comes in. The vocals then come in for a verse.

From there, the vocals take the track into the main chorus. A guitar is added to the track. The lead guitars then come in as the main chorus continues. This ends with the subtle sounds and bass guitar. Another guitar then comes in quietly.

After that, the guitar drops out as the vocals continue on to the next verse. After a bit, the vocals then take the track into the main chorus. Like last time, the guitars build the track back up. An instrumental section follows before the vocals extend the main chorus. After that, the guitars lead the track out.

Probably the most notable part about this track is the guitars. Combined with the vocals during the main chorus, this is probably the biggest draw to the track because those elements come together quite nicely.

The lyrics, in my view, could have been more. There really isn’t much there.

Still, the overall flow is well realized. There are nice quiet parts, but the track gets up some good energy in the more energetic parts of the track.

Overall, this is a pretty solid track. It’s got a great overall cinematic sound during the main chorus. The lyrics could have used some beefing up, though. Still, it has good flow for what’s there. So, a solid track all around.
