Review: Everclear – Everything to Everyone (Rock) Drew Wilson | February 13, 2023 This review covers the alternative rock track Everclear – Everything to Everyone. This track was released in 1997 on the album So Much for the Afterglow. The track starts off with a bit of feedback, guitars, and splashes of a lead guitar. The vocals then come in for a first verse along with a drum kit. From there, the vocals take the track into the main chorus as the guitars are slightly modified. This ends with some backup vocals as well as some additional vocals. This ends with an instrumental section. From there, the vocals take the track into the next verse. After that, the vocals take the track into the main chorus again. Some backup vocals then come in along with a tambourine. The track then drops out a bit. After a bit, there is an additional instrumental section. From there, the vocals take the track into the main chorus. After that, the backup vocals come in more and the main vocals extend the main chorus. The tambourine returns along with the guitars. After that, the track largely cuts off and a brief guitar element leads the track out. One thing I found interesting in this track is the main melody. It has a rather synthetic sound to it and gives the track a rather unique sound. While it doesn’t really develop into much, it does add a slightly different sound. The guitars are pretty well done and the vocals are decent enough. While I can appreciate the progression from simplistic sound to a more full sound, I can’t help but think more could have been done to make the first part of the track more interesting. It seems a bit on the light side, but the last part of the track does have a nice full sound. Overall, this is an alright track. It has an interesting synthetic melody along with some decent guitars and vocals. While it may be a bit on the light side towards the beginning, it still manages to become a half decent track.
