This review covers the house track Clubhouse – Deep in My Heart (Extended Mix).
This track was released in 1991 as part of a single.
The track starts off with a hit. After some vocal work and a few other elements, the bassline comes in. The keys then come in and the track pulls back as it plays out a melody. Some additional male vocal samples come in afte the kick comes back.
From there, the main vocals come in. Female vocals replace the male vocals after this. The male vocals then take back over as they take the track into the main chorus. The section is capped off with some more instrumental hits.
In the next section, the male vocals take the track into the next verse. Female vocals take over for a period of time. The male vocals then take the track back into the main chorus again. This section is capped off with a somewhat modified instrumental section. Some keys then transition in and take over. They go back and forth providing chords and the main melody. Piano keys then take over.
The male vocals make a return, repeating the main chorus. This section is capped off with another round with the keys heard earlier. This section is capped off with the instrumental hit, breaking the track down before it ends completely.
One thing I really like about the track is that it is so capable of providing a chilled out atmosphere. It’s not overly energetic, but it also provides enough to be quite entertaining. Virtually every element manages to provide that mood in some form or another. The fact that it transitions nicely from one section to another makes the entire track on smooth chilled out track with enough variety to keep interest from beginning to end.
Both the male and female vocals really add something to the track that gives it a nice human touch. They work well enough that the actual lyrics almost don’t matter much. It’s an added bonus that the lyrics are nice and meaningful as well.
Overall, this is a pretty solid track. It has a lot of great vibes to chill out to. The different elements throughout contribute to the chilled out sound it provides, making it a nice track to listen to from beginning to end. The vocals are nice when they are providing both lyrical and non-lyrical elements to the track. So, I would say this track gets a thumbs up from me.
