Review: Chumbawamba – Tubthumping (Pop)

This review covers the pop track Chumbawamba – Tubthumping.

This track was released in 1997 on the album Tubthumper.

This is one of those tracks that are almost immediately recognizable. It was remade and repackaged countless times since.

The main chorus is what makes this particularly memorable. It’s very self-explanatory. The downside of this track is that particularly large portions of this track is just the main chorus repeated over and over again. because of this, there is that sense that this track is ultimately one of those one-trick pony tracks.

There is some variety in the chorus between the talking versus and female vocals. They don’t take up that much space compared to the chorus, but they do add some variety to the track.

While this track is rather upbeat and hopeful, it is a bit repetitive for my tastes. It’s not a bad track, but it only remains a good listen when listened to in small doses.
