This review covers the house track Cedric Gervais & Howard Jones – Things Can Only Get Better.

Probably the biggest standout feature were the vocals. They have a somewhat thick British accent, though the lyrics were still understandable. The problem I personally have with the vocals is that they sometimes hit some odd high notes which drops the overall quality of the production.
Lyrically, this track was pretty decent. They gave this track a rather uplifting feeling which isn’t a bad thing by any means.
The chord melodies in the track were decent, though nothing huge. Some of the notes had the pitch turn down from time to time. While the idea was clearly to make the track sound more intriguing, it, instead, made the track somewhat off more than anything else. The piano elements weren’t bad, though.
The production value and structure were pretty good. It could have done without out the rising pitch portion, though, because it makes is sound like a cliche sound.
Overall, this was an OK track. It has OK vocals, decent lyrics, and a not bad chord melody. The structure of the track was pretty good, though some of the elements in it may have been added seemingly because every house track does it. If you’re already a huge fan of house, then you might like this track.
