Review: Caravan Palace – Lone Digger (Electro Swing)

This review covers the electro swing track Caravan Palace – Lone Digger.

This track was released in 2015 on the album . The artist also posted the track online for free streaming.

The track starts off with some classical sounds being brought in. The lyrics quickly come in with the occasional unintelligible higher pitched backing vocals.

A brass instrument solo hits the track next. From there, the vocals come back. After a brief instrumental section, the vocals hit the chorus. After another instrumental section, the vocals hit one final main chorus. From there, the track gradually fades out with some minor instruments again.

One of the interesting elements of this track is the upbeat nature of it. With the way that classical sounds are incorporated, there’s that sense of a carefree emotion flowing through it.

The way the vocals are laid over top of the track adds a rather interesting twist to the overall sound. There is that dynamic of quiet mixed in with the more powerful portions. It really adds a certain dynamic to the track and, thus, gave the track a nice flow overall.

Probably the only thing that stuck out to me was that it is hard to understand some of the lyrics. It may be because the lyrics are sung rather quickly, but either way, some of the meaning does get a little lost.

Generally speaking, this is a very solid track. For us, it’s our first impression of electro swing. I’d say it leaves a positive first impression. The carefree and upbeat sound this track delivers does give this track an interesting overall sound. It is hard to understand some of the lyrics unfortunately. Still, a very solid track to listen to. It gets a thumbs up from me.
