Review: Cage the Elephant – Ain’t No Rest for the Wicked (Rock) Drew Wilson | May 13, 2015 This review covers the rock track Cage the Elephant – Ain’t No Rest for the Wicked. This track was released in 2009 on a self-titled album. The track starts off sounding like the track Beck – Loser. Then, the lyrics throws a whole pile of cliche’s at the listener. To me, the nails on chalkboard moment was hearing all the cliche’s. So, when I heard the chorus, I was really hoping there was something in this track worth listening to, but it just goes back to a Beck soundalike. As a result, this track gives off that vibe of being completely unoriginal. The track also launches into a brass solo that sounds more like a fart than anything else. The brass, after, just wafts into the track the rest of the time before just ending. Trying to think of something positive about this track is pretty much an impossible task. In fact, there’s nothing that comes to mind that I can say, “hey, at least this track did this.” Ultimately, this track is, at best, a rip off. At worst, it sounds terrible. I can’t honestly find one thing positive about this track that is noteworthy. So, definitely a track to avoid. Score 3/10 Drew Wilson on Twitter: @icecube85 and Google+.
