Review: ATB ‎- 9 PM (Till I Come) (Signum Remix) (Trance)

This review covers the progressive trance track ATB ‎- 9 PM (Till I Come) (Signum Remix).

This track was released in 1999 as part of the E.P. 9 PM (Till I Come) (The U.K. Mixes).

The track starts off with a drum kit. Some elements have some filtering applied to them. A synth pad joins the track. An additional synth melody makes a brief appearance. A snare roll then makes an appearance along with a synth effect and voice sample.

From there, an additional synth joins the track. The voice sample makes a longer appearance with an added delay and reverberation effect. Another snare roll makes an appearance along with other layered elements. Various hats have also joined the track by this stage. After another voice sample appearance, another synth melody gradually joins the track. Parts of the track briefly pull back.

When another snare roll hits, the track hits the drop. This leaves a few drum kit elements and a synth. As those elements fade out, synth pads fade in. After another kick, a synth melody takes over. This is backed by some pads. The voice sample continues to make occasional appearances.

As the track builds up, another synth melody joins the track. A snare roll makes an appearance as the new synths largely take over. The drum kit backs this. Also, the first synth melody makes occasional appearances.

After an additional snare roll and appearance of the voice sample, the first melody takes over. The secondary synth melody drops out. The drum kit gradually drops back, but after a snare roll, makes a return. Both synth melodies play out after that.

Another snare roll does hit and both synth melodies drop out. This leaves a synth effect, bassline, and drum kit. The bassline gradually fades out. The synth effect gradually fades out. That voice sample then makes a brief appearance and leads the rest of the track out.

For me, the highlight of the track is the duel synth melodies. Not only do they sound great separately, but also together. This track definitely makes full use of how interchangeable these melodies are, giving this track a great sense of progression.

The voice sample is pretty decent. It adds a nice small amount of personality and dynamic sound.

Overall, this is a very solid track. It has a nice sense of progression and the two synth melodies not only sound great, but play out in an interchangeable manner as well. The voice sample is also pretty decent. So, a very solid track all around.

Score
7.5/10
