Review: Alice in Chains – Got Me Wrong (Rock)

This review covers the grunge rock track Alice in Chains – Got Me Wrong.

This track was released in 1992 on the E.P. Sap.

The track starts off with some guitar strumming. Another guitar joins in along with a drum kit. From there, the vocals start in with the first verse.

Shortly after, the vocals take the track into the first round in the main chorus. This is backed by some lead guitars. This is capped off with an instrumental section.

After that, the next verse plays out. The vocals then take the track into the main chorus again. This section is capped off with more vocals, serving as a next verse. This is capped off with another instrumental section.

From there, the vocals then go into the next verse. Another round of the main chorus then commences. This main chorus is extended with some additional vocals and guitar work. Eventually, the chorus winds up and is capped off with an instrumental section. This instrumental section ends the track.

The main chorus is alright. It’s not exactly huge, but it is decent enough. The lead guitars is probably the best part about it, but the vocals weren’t bad.

A problem I have with this track is that some of the lyrics during the verses are quiet. As a result, some of the meaning gets lost.

There is a decent number of verses, but they are quite short. they only last a couple of seconds at most before the track leads back into the main chorus. On the plus side, the main chorus gets extended from one iteration to the next which does give this track some interesting variety.

Overall, this is an OK track. It has its strengths and weaknesses. The strengths generally revolve around the main chorus with decent lead guitars and vocals. The weaknesses revolve around the verses that tend to be short and quiet. A track that is interesting to listen to, but nothing huge.
