This review covers the electro swing track 11 Acorn Lane – Spend My Time With You (Electro Swing Remix).
This track was released in 2015 on the album Time for Tea.
The track starts off with some brass sounds. This is backed by a few stringed elements. After a moment of this, the track brings in the vocals. This is followed up by a brass instrumental section backed by some synth effects and bassline.
The vocals come back with a verse. This is followed up with another and entirely different brass instrumental section. Again, it is backed by some synth elements.
After the track hits the main chorus, the track eventually breaks down with some synth.
what is interesting about the track is the fact that the track really takes on a rather innocent love theme. This is through the vocals. While a lot of tracks out there – especially with pop tracks – focus more on sex when it comes to love, this track simply goes to the side of the relationship of love. These days, this can be surprisingly uncommon in music.
The jazzy elements also makes me think this came straight out of a Katamari Damacy game. It doesn’t, but there are similar music styles in the music. This is by no means a bad thing as the music on the game is quite good.
Generally speaking, the love theme as portrayed in this track is actually quite nice to hear. It’s not that common that a track that focuses on relationships rather than sex and disappointment and still manage to be very enjoyable. In this case, the track pulls this off nicely. The upbeat brass sections along with the synth in the track really gives the track a nice upbeat and happy theme. So, an overall nicely done track.
