Trump is having an unsurprisingly hard time being a whiny little bitch in front of a judge.
Donald Trump, the lying sack of shit currently occupying the White House, has already lost his defamation lawsuit against the New York Times. The lawsuit was filed during another wave of oppression from the fascist dictator as silenced Jimmy Kimmel, considered labelling the pride flag as a symbol for domestic terror, had several Democrats arrested, and had his administration haul Reddit, Valve, Twitch, and Discord before Congress to answer right wing questions about so-called “radicalization”.
The lawsuit was tossed apparently because it was so incompetently written, it was impressive that someone practising law even wrote the thing in the first place. From the BBC:
A US federal judge has struck down Donald Trump’s $15bn defamation lawsuit against the New York Times newspaper, citing issues with its contents.
US District Judge Steven Merryday in his ruling on Friday said Trump had violated a federal rule requiring applicants to outline in a “short and plain statement” why they deserve relief from the court.
A legal complaint, the judge said, is not “a protected platform to rage against an adversary”. He gave Trump 28 days to file an amended complaint.
Trump signalled he would sue the New York Times earlier this week in a post on Truth Social, claiming the newspaper has been “allowed to freely lie, smear and defame me for far too long”.
A spokesperson for President Trump has said that he “will continue to hold the Fake News accountable through this powerhouse lawsuit against the New York Times,” the newspaper reported, and added that his legal team will file an amended version to meet the judge’s directions.
In its own statement, the New York Times said it welcome’s the judge’s “quick ruling, which recognised that the complaint was a political document rather than a serious legal filing”.
So, it sounds like Trumps idiot lawyers are going to appeal the ruling and waste more of the courts time as he continues his grievance national tour in a bid to crack down on free speech. Since he’s already running into road blocks, it sounds like things are heading in a positive direction, so that’s always good to hear.
Honestly I hope they do get the appeal and the lawsuit continues. Why? because of how these lawsuits work trump is essentially throwing away his presidential immunity from what legal experts have mentioned (seen a video on it on Legal AF I think) and all sorts of trumps dirty laundry can be aired out by NY Times in the process of this lawsuit. Really it can only screw him over if it continues but he’s too pig headed to stop.
