Usenet Server Issue?

Post by someone » Sun Feb 02, 2020 3:21 am

All four of my usual free usenet servers have been responding as "Too many connections to server" suddenly and persistently for more than 24 hours. It's an unusually complete block -- can't ever connect (rather than the normal, get one connection for a time, then blocked again), and it's effecting all of them at the same time so it doesn't seem coincidental.

My paid servers are OK, so I'm not in the cold, but the free ones provide the diversity to capture missing articles now and again.

Is anyone else encountering usenet server problems? Is there any word on this?

Thanks.

Is it possible that there are new restrictions on those free servers since you last used them?

It's also possible that there is an issue with the connection somewhere along the line. I've seen similar on BitTorrent in the past where everything suddenly becomes connectable. After that, a day or so later, everything connects fine again as if nothing happened.

Maybe. I realized all are Dutch, so maybe something changed legally on 2/1. I'll keep trying and we'll see.

I wish I could help further on this. Still, hope things end up working out for you.

Starting two days ago I have not been able to see any servers when playing COD4 in multi-player.

When I refresh the master server it doesnt do anything. Everything is blank.

Is there a patch for this problem? I did see a system file message that a file couldnt be saved because of lack of space. I have plenty of space on the harddrive. Could it be an issue with the cache being full, and thats why it doesnt work? Where would the folder be located that I need to empty?

Hi "Brandongek". If I were you, I'd demand a refund for whoever wrote your spam bot script. It REALLY sucks. :P
