Shubert Organization Suffers Data Breach

Post by IceCube » Thu May 30, 2019 6:54 pm

Someone snuck into the Shubert Organization.

According to a letter mailed to certain customers, Shubert executives came across some suspicious activity on an employee’s email account last February, and teamed up with some forensic experts to investigate what was happening. The probe found that someone had gained access to several employee’s email accounts, which had customers’ names, credit card numbers, and credit card number expiration dates. However, it was unclear whether or not the intruder actually accessed the information.

“We take security of personal information in our care very seriously,” stressed a representative of the Shubert Organization, which owns 17 Broadway theaters and the popular ticketing service Telecharge. “We have security measures in place to protect the data on our systems, and we continue to assess and update our security measures and training to our employees to safeguard the privacy and security of information in our care,” the representative continued.

In addition to reporting the incident to several state regulators and Attorneys General, the Shubert Organization is offering affected individuals 24 months of complimentary credit monitoring services. It also set up a call center to answer any questions or concerns.
